Total Time: 6 hours 10 minutes

What You Need

  • Puff pastry sheets (enough for 4 pies)

  • 1 packet slow cooker beef stew mix

  • 400g beef chunks (or however much fits your cooker)

  • 1 onion, chopped up

  • 3 strips bacon, chopped

  • 6 small mushrooms, sliced

  • 1 beef bouillon cube

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (say “wooster-shire”)

  • Grated cheese (a big handful)

  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Beef Bacon and Cheese Pies: Steps

  1. Chop onion, beef, bacon, and mushrooms. Toss them in your slow cooker with the stew mix, bouillon cube, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.

  2. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 4 hours until beef is super soft.

  3. If the gravy is too runny, mix a little cornstarch with water in a cup to make it thick, then stir it back in.

  4. Cut the puff pastry into small circles or squares so they fit your pie maker or dishes.

  5. Spoon hot beef mix into each pastry, top with grated cheese.

  6. Pop on the lids (or cover if using dishes) and bake until pastry turns golden and crunchy.

  7. Serve hot with ketchup or your favorite sauce. Yum!
