Slow Cooker Cheesy Garlic Bread…. I was sceptical , but it was a dead set winner. I added leeks and cream which made it !

Ingredients:

8 eggs
2 rashes of bacon
2 slices of ham
300 ml cream
One leek
3 shallots
Salt and pepper
2 loaves garlic bread
2 cups grated cheese

Method:

Fry off leek, bacon, ham, shallots. Mix with cream, cheese and eggs.

Put baking paper in SC. Line SC with garlic bread slices ( butter side down). Pour mixture over top. Bake with tea towel under lid on high for 2- 2.5 hours.

once in slow cooker turn onto warm for 30 minutes till dough is well risen then turn onto high. Cheesy herb and garlic pull apart bread.

RECIPE:

7 gram sachet yeast, 1/2 cup warm water, 1 tsp caster sugar. Mix well and set aside for 10 minutes till bubbly. Sift 4 cups bread flour and 1 tsp salt.

Make a well in flour and add yeast mixture with 1 cup warm water. Mix till soft dough then turn on lightly floured surface and knead for 10 minutes. Place in oiled bowl and cover with cling wrap and set aside for 1 hour until doubled in size. Mix 3/4 cup grated cheese, 2 tsp rosemary, 2 tsp thyme, 2 tsp minced garlic in a bowl. Punch down dough and knead for 1 minute. Break into balls and flatten slightly. In the center place a small amount of the cheesy mixture and fold up balls again.

Slow Cooker Cheesy Garlic Bread

Line the bowl of the slow cooker with grease proof paper and place the balls in the s/c. Squish up close and sprinkle the remainder of the cheese mixture over the top. Cook on high for 50 minutes.
