I tried Slow Cooker Stroganoff
Two Step Slow Cooker Stroganoff
Huge favourite at my house… smells delicious! They will want seconds.
- 2 lbs Gr Beef (mince? for my brothers and sisters in the UK) cooked, drained
- 2 Medium onions, chopped
- 1 cup Beef Consommé (oddly very available in these C-19 times )
- 1 can (4 ounces) mushrooms stems and pieces, drained … I like to chop up fresh but canned does very nicely… double it if you like
- 3 Tbsp tomato paste
- 2 garlic cloves … or more
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp flour
- 3/4 cup sour cream ( lately I’ve been using Greek yogurt- try it)
- 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
Hot cooked broad egg noodles
Combine first 8 ingredients in Slowcooker and mix well. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours
Combine flour and sour cream / Greek yogurt in a small bowl until smooth. Stir into beef mixture, cover and cook 1 hour or until desired thickness.
Garnish with Parsley if you’re into it.
Serve over noodles.
I like to add a few steps like sautéing the onions and mushrooms with the garlic first… but I’m semi retired with time on my hands. When the kids were little I just browned the meat opened the cans and threw everything else together… works GREAT!
Enjoy… and love each other K?
