Sparkling Apple Silverside

Sparkling Apple Silverside is an easy slow cooker meal made with silverside, sparkling apple juice, and fresh apple. The slow cooking makes the meat very tender and gives it a light apple flavor. It is simple to prepare and perfect for a family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1–2kg piece of silverside/corned beef

  • 1 bottle of SPARKLING apple juice (see note below) 750ml

  • 1 green apple

Sparkling Apple Silverside: Instructions

  1. Put silverside into slow cooker.

  2. Peel and chop apple into quarters (you may leave the peel on) and put in pot.

  3. Add apple juice by pouring it.

  4. Bake at high 6–8hrs (1 or 2kg).

Notes

  • No problem when meat is not covered by liquid, flip it over in the middle of the cooking process.

  • You can add the sparkling apple juice twice in case you like, but you do not have to turn it at home.

  • It may also be cooked 8–10hrs on low but I prefer high to achieve super tender results.

  • The hint of apple will be in the silverside, but he is not too framed.

  • Serve it with your favourite silverside accompaniments eg mash and veg with cheese or white sauce.

  • This was served super simple with baked beans also and our kids loved it.
