Fish with Crunchy Cheese Topping

Yummy Fish with Crunchy Cheese Topping… What is this dish? Do you like fish? This recipe is super easy and tastes really good! The fish gets cooked slowly until it’s soft and flaky. On top, there’s a crunchy, cheesy layer that makes it taste even better. Your whole family will love eating this for dinner!

Things You Need

  • 5 pieces of fish (about 500 grams total)
  • 50 grams of butter that you melted
  • 1 big spoon of lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup of bread crumbs (tiny pieces of bread)
  • 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese (grated – cut into tiny pieces)
  • 1 big spoon of dried parsley (a dried herb)
  • 1 small spoon of lemon rind (the yellow outside part of a lemon)
  • 1 fresh lemon to cut into slices for decoration

Fish with Crunchy Cheese Topping: Steps

  1. Put paper in the bottom of your slow cooker. Put the fish on the paper with the skin side down. Make sure all the fish is in one layer.
  2. Put the melted butter and lemon juice in a small bowl and stir them together. Put this to the side.
  3. In another bowl, mix the bread crumbs, cheese, parsley, and lemon rind together. Stir it really well. Pour this into the butter and lemon juice. Keep mixing until it looks wet and clumpy (like damp sand).
  4. Carefully put the crunchy mixture on top of each piece of fish. Try to give each fish piece the same amount of topping.
  5. Cover your slow cooker. Put a clean tea towel under the lid (this helps catch extra water). Cook on HIGH for 2 hours. The fish is done when you can pull it apart with a fork easily.
  6. Take the fish out carefully. Put a slice of fresh lemon on top. Serve with a green salad and potato wedges.

  • If your fish is fresh (not frozen), you only need to cook it for 1 hour and 30 minutes instead.
  • Your fish is ready when it flakes apart easily with a fork!
