Slow Cooked Duck and Vege. I was seeking another way of cooking duck and I came across a recipe that I would make for my family.

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Ducks → 2

  • Onion Soup Mix → 1 pkt.

  • Potatoes → 4 huge, peeled and cut into pieces

  • Carrots → 2 large, peeled and cut into pieces

  • Onion → 1 medium, coarsely diced

  • Butter → 2 Tbsp.

  • Salt and Pepper → to taste

  • Chicken Stock Powder → 2 tsp

  • Water → 1 cup

  • Cornflour → 1 Tbsp. (if required)

Slow Cooked Duck and Vege: Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients except the duck into the slow cooker and stir.

  2. Place the ducks on top of the vegetables.

  3. Cook on high for 5 hours.

  4. At the end of cooking time, remove the duck and cut it.

Notes

  • At this point, the cooking liquid can be thickened by adding a little cornflour in cold water.

  • Other vegetables such as kumara or pumpkin can also be used.

  • Ready-cooked peas and corn can be added to serve but could also be added during cooking time.

  • I used a 5-litre slow cooker.
