. Slow Cooker Chicken Noodles
Ingredients:
1 chicken Breast sliced thin
2 cups chicken stock
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup oyster sauce
Level teaspoon curry powder
Veg ~ I used
2 spring onion
1/4 thinly sliced capsicum
Sliced snow peas
Frozen broccoli, cauliflower & corn
Directions:
I browned the chicken first then added the chicken, veg and all the sauces to the slow cooker and mixed together… Then sat noodles on top and put lid on with no tea towel.
1 1/2 – 2hrs on high stirring 2-3 times.
Notes:
(This would easily 4 serves. You could add more chicken but I just had one spare from last night and wanted to use it up.
I used keens curry powder….
It doesn’t make up a sauce it all soaks in to the noodles!
I normally make something similar and fry it but wanted to see how it would go in the slow cooker. )
Question : Are they vermicelli noodles?
Answer : Yes, I used these ones.
Question : Are these the same as mumma’s??
Answer : I wish they were the same as mummas !!! They are very yummy though.
Question : Could this be done with other noodles such as egg noodles?
Answer : I think u could probably use most sorts of noodles.
Question : Do u reckon fish sauce would be ok instead of oyster cos hubby has a bad reaction to shellfish.
Answer : You could probably substitute for any Chinese sauce or maybe hoisin sauce.
Question : How much frozen veg ?? Also is carrot in there ? 🙂
Answer : Oh yeah I forgot about the carrot 🙂
Prob about 3 cups of the frozen veg.. Then the fresh veg too.. As much or as little as you like really!
Question : Does it taste anything like Singapore noodles looks like them.
Answer : Yeah it does taste a bit like Singapore noodles.
