Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs

Today I made the kid’s favourite slow cooker honey garlic chicken thighs.

Just with really simple ingredients. I used everything in the pic plus 6 skinless & boneless chicken thighs & some cornflour to thicken the sauce.
I only realised 1/2 way through cooking that we’re out of rice so I did garlic roast potatoes in the oven to go with them instead. I’ve made different versions of this dish in the past with slightly different ingredients, using chicken breast & thighs. Some are more like pulled chicken but this is my own version that I prefer…

Recipe:

Brown 6 boneless & skinless chicken thighs in a pan with olive oil & arrange them on the bottom of your slow cooker.

Mix the following in a seperate bowl
1/3 cup honey
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
4tsp of lazy garlic (or whatever you use. About 3/4 cloves)
1/2 tsp of dried origano
2 tablespoons of fresh parsley


Mix well & pour over the chicken thighs
I cooked it for 5 hours on low. If you want to thicken the sauce then mix 1 tbsp of cornflour & 1tbsp of water & about 30 mins from the end of cooking, mix the paste into the sauce & recover. I then toasted the sesame seeds in a dry saucepan for about 3 mins.
Remove chicken & put on plate, stir the sauce, spoon some over the chicken & sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds 🤤😋.. ENJOYS
