Beef in Black Bean Sauce

Beef in Black Bean Sauce is a rich and savoury slow cooker meal made with tender braising steak, black bean sauce, soy sauce, vegetables, and sesame oil. The beef cooks slowly until soft and flavorful, creating a simple dish that pairs perfectly with rice.

Ingredients

  • 500g braising steak, diced

  • 1/4 cup cornflour

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 200mL water

  • 3 tbsp black bean sauce of good quality.

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 brown onion, quartered

  • 1 green pepper, coarsely cut into pieces.

  • 1/2 cup chopped spring onion

Beef in Black Bean Sauce: Instructions

  1. Cut the steak into bits and add it to the cornflour until it is coated.

  2. Fry the coated steak in the sesame oil in a frypan -in batches as necessary.

  3. Add beefto the slow-cooker.

  4. Add and mixother ingredients except spring onion.

  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-6hrs.

  6. A few minutes to the service add spring onion.

  7. Serve with rice.
