Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Cajun spice mix

  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika

  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar

  • 1.5-2kg+ beef spare ribs (or pork ribs)

  • 1 cup tomato sauce

  • 1/3 cup barbecue sauce

  • 2 garlic cloves, smashed

  • 1/4 cup bourbon

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Bourbon BBQ Beef Spare Ribs: Directions

  1. Put ribs in the slow cooker. Sprinkle on dry spices and rub them all over.

  2. Add all wet stuff and garlic. Mix it up well. Cook on high for 1 hour, then low for 5-6 hours.

  3. Move ribs to an oven tray. Cover with foil or a lid. Bake at 150°C for 20 minutes. Brush on sauce halfway.

  4. Take sauce from slow cooker, pour into a pan. Boil on high heat until it gets thick like you like.

  5. Pour thick sauce over ribs or dunk them in it. Dig in and enjoy!
