Sweet BBQ Style Pork Fillet
Cook Time: 4 hours 30 minutes
Servings: 5
Ingredients
- 1.5kg pork fillets
- ½ cup tomato sauce
- ⅓ cup honey
- 1 tablespoon salt-reduced soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1 tablespoon brown vinegar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornflour mixed with 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Take the raw pork fillets and lay them flat in the bottom of your slow cooker bowl, making sure they sit in a single, even layer.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, honey, soy sauce, mustard powder, brown vinegar, and brown sugar. If you’d like, let me know which recipe you want this line added to, and I can rewrite the full method in easy, 4th grade style for you. Do not add the cornflour and water yet — save that for later.
- Pour this sauce mix evenly over the top of the pork fillets, making sure all the meat gets covered.
- Put the lid on the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours, until the pork is soft and cooked all the way through.
- Near the end of cooking, mix the cornflour with the water in a small bowl until smooth, then stir it into the sauce inside the slow cooker.
- Let it cook for another 5 to 10 minutes with the lid on, so the sauce thickens up into a rich, glossy glaze.
- Once thickened, slice the pork and serve it warm, spooned with plenty of that sweet, sticky sauce on top.
