Cook Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 8 chicken thighs, diced
- 2 large onions, diced
- 1 packet Chinese chicken and corn cup-of-soup mix (do not add water to the mix)
- 1–2 teaspoons garlic (minced or paste)
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 cup capsicum (bell pepper), diced
- A good handful of mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup shallots
- 1 block Philly cream cheese, cubed
- 6 bacon rashers, chopped
Slow Cooker Creamy Garlic Chicken & Philly Cheese: Directions
- First, heat a pan on the stove. Cook the chicken, bacon, and onions until they turn light brown. This step is not a must, but it makes the food taste better. If you want to skip it and put everything in raw, that’s okay too — just know it will take longer to cook in the slow cooker.
- Next, put the browned chicken, bacon, and onions into the slow cooker. Then add all the other things too, like the soup mix, garlic, onion powder, capsicum, mushrooms, shallots, and the cubed Philly cheese.
- While it cooks, stir the mix once in a while. This helps the cheese melt nice and smooth instead of turning into one big sticky lump.
- Put the lid on top and cook it on HIGH heat about 2 – 3 hours. You’ll know it’s ready when the chicken cooks all the way through and the sauce gets nice and thick and creamy.
- Once it’s done, scoop the creamy chicken on top of cooked pasta, rice, or fettuccine. Just remember to cook your pasta or rice first, so it’s ready to soak up all that yummy sauce.
