Slow Cooked Creamy Garlic King Prawns
Cook Time: 50 minutes
Ingredients
- 1kg green king prawns, peeled and deveined
- 115g butter
- ½ cup cream
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 cup chicken stock
- ½ tsp mustard powder
- 1 tbsp plain flour
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, to garnish (if you like)
Instructions
- Put the butter and crushed garlic into your slow cooker. Turn it on to HIGH and let it heat up until the butter is fully melted and starts to smell yummy.
- Sprinkle the flour into the melted butter and garlic. Stir it well so there are no lumps and it looks smooth.
- Slowly pour in the chicken stock and cream, a little at a time, stirring the whole time so everything mixes together nicely.
- Put the lid on the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 30 minutes. The sauce should get thick and creamy. Remember to stir it every 10 minutes so it doesn’t stick or burn.
- Add the mustard powder, salt, and pepper into the sauce. Stir well so the flavors spread evenly through the whole pot.
- Add the prawns into the sauce. Put the lid back on and cook on HIGH for another 15 to 20 minutes. Halfway through, gently stir the prawns so they cook evenly on all sides.
- Check that the prawns are pink, tender, and cooked all the way through before turning off the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle fresh parsley on top if you want extra color and flavor, then serve hot and enjoy!
