Curried meatballs are easy and tasty. The meatballs cook slowly in a rich curry sauce. They become soft, juicy, and full of flavor. This simple meal is great with pasta or vegetables.

Cook Time: 3 hours
Total Time: 3hours 15minutes
Ingredients
Meatballs
-
500g lean beef mince
-
1/2 onion, grated
-
1 egg
-
1/2 cup fine breadcrumbs
-
Black pepper to taste (cracked, about 1tsp)
Sauce
-
1/2 onion, grated
-
1.5 cups hot water
-
2 tsp Massel beef stock powder
-
2 tbsp tomato paste
-
2 tbsp fruit chutney
-
1 tbsp curry powder
Curried Meatballs: Instructions
-
Put all the meatball ingredients in a big bowl and mix them well.
-
Wash and dry hands.
-
The combination is made into golf ball sized meat balls using hands.
-
Mine made 22 meatballs.
-
(These may be prepared overnight and refrigerated in fridge)
-
Meatballs may be placed directly in slow cooker.
-
Mixed all the sauce ingredients in a jug and pour over meatballs.
-
Set slow cooker to the low setting and cook about 3hrs (some slow cookers might require more time, just be sure meatballs are completely cooked by testing one of them, in case of doubt).
-
Before serving I turned the meat balls to a turn in the sauce and this was to have good coverage.
Notes
-
DO NOT Shake or roll meatballs on cooking since they may smash.
-
Serve meatballs it may seem that they will not break apart.
-
I had mine on a bow-tie pasta with a serving of green vegetables.
-
They are rather curry spicy (I can recommend medium heat only). You can add less curry powder to the sauce or serve without any sauce to young ones or those who do not like a lot of hotness.
-
Prepared using 5L Russell Hobbs cooker.

Enjoy!
