Honey Garlic Chicken
Was soooo delicious
Took about 3 & a half hours ( chicken was in the slow cooker for 3 hours – ON HIGH )
Ingredients:
– 1.2 k’s Chicken Thighs
-1/2 a cup honey
– garlic
– 1/2 a cup soy sauce
– 4 or 5 table spoons tomato paste
– chilli paste ( sriracha )
– rice wine vinegar
– corn flower
– brown rice
– spring onions
I started by putting 1.2 k’s of chicken thighs in the slow cooker ( don’t cut them up ).
Then I put in a bowl all the saucy stuff and whisked it up.
– garlic ( pretty sure I used 5 cloves. Hubby isn’t a huge fan – tripple it for extra flavor! )
– chilli paste ( I used sriracha and used like half a tea spoon. If I didn’t have a little girl eating it with us I probs would have put 3 or 4 tea spoons )
– rice wine vinegar ( find in the asian isle @ woolies. Used 2 table spoons )
Let’s see how to cook Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken
Directions:
Poured this all over the chicken once given a good mix.
Then put the slow cooker on high for 3 hours.
After 3 hours – I put the chicken on a separate plate or bowl to cool a little and then I put 2 table spoons of corn flower in the slow cooker. Mix that in the slow cooker with the juices.
Let it cook a further 15 mins on high.
Pull the chicken with a fork or your fingers and put back in the slow cooker. Add some spring onions and also rice. I added 3 cups of brown rice. ( the instant one cause it’s quick and easy ) Then mix it around again and leave for another 5 mins and DONE!
I’ll take a pic of the cheat rice I used and also that red wine vinegar.
I hope that was descriptive enough.
This is the rice wine vinegar…
This is the cheap and easy rice I used ( I used 3 cups )
