🛒 Ingredients
- 16 raw beef rissoles (you can use fewer and just make extra gravy)
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 750ml gravy (made from gravy powder)
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 tsp dried oregano
👩🍳 Instructions: Slow Cooker Beef Rissoles
- Layer the onions – Spread the sliced onion evenly across the bottom of your slow cooker. This makes a soft, tasty bed for the rissoles.
- Make the gravy – Mix the gravy powder with cold water, following the packet directions, until you have 750ml of gravy. Pour it right over the onions.
- Add the rissoles and herbs – Place the raw rissoles on top of the onions and gravy. Sprinkle the rosemary and oregano evenly over the top.
- Slow cook – Cover with the lid and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours, until the rissoles are soft and fully cooked. If you’re home, gently flip them halfway through so both sides soak up the gravy.
- Thicken the gravy (optional) – Carefully lift out the rissoles and keep them warm. Then cook the gravy on high heat for a few minutes (searing mode or stovetop), or stir in a little cornflour mixed with water to thicken it.
- Serve – Spoon the rissoles and gravy over creamy mashed potatoes, with steamed greens on the side. Enjoy!
