Marinated Steak

Marinated Steak. This slow-cooked marinated steak is so tender it practically falls apart on your fork. Juicy tomatoes and warm spices sink deep into the meat as it cooks low and slow, giving you big, rich flavor without any fuss. The leftover cooking juices turn into a thick, yummy gravy in just minutes. Pair it with creamy mashed potatoes or your favorite veggies for a meal the whole family will love.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium steaks
  • 1 tablespoon Italian herbs
  • 1 tablespoon beef stock powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 can (410 g) diced or crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Gravox (gravy thickener)

Marinated SteakDirections

  1. 1Scatter the Italian herbs, beef stock powder, salt, pepper, and curry powder all over both sides of each steak. Press the spices in gently so the meat is nicely coated.
  2. 2Open the can of tomatoes and pour them straight into the bottom of your slow cooker.
  3. 3Lay each steak on top of the tomatoes, pressing them down a little so the tomatoes touch the meat on all sides.
  4. 4Put the lid on and cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 8 hours, until the steak is nice and tender when you poke it with a fork.
  5. 5Carefully pour the hot cooking juices into a big measuring cup. Stir in 1 tablespoon of Gravox, then pop it in the microwave for about 1.5 minutes until the gravy gets nice and thick. Give it a good stir before serving.
  6. 6Dish up the steaks on plates and pour the warm gravy on top. Serve with fluffy mashed potatoes or your favorite cooked vegetables.
