Ingredients

  • 500 – 700 g ground meat (try turkey, pork, chicken, or beef)

  • 2 chopped onions

  • 2 tablespoons veggie oil

  • 1 packet tomato paste

  • 1 can smashed tomatoes

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano

  • 1-2 teaspoons chili powder (pick your spicy level)

  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger (if you want)

  • Salt and pepper

  • 3-4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into big chunks

Beef and Sweet Potato Chilli: Directions

  1. Mix the onions, spices, and meat together in a bowl.

  2. Put this mix in your slow cooker. Break it up so it doesn’t sit flat on the bottom.

  3. Add the sweet potato chunks on top.

  4. Blend the tomato paste and canned tomatoes smooth, then pour over the potatoes. (I like adding extra chili here too!)

  5. Cook on low for 8-10 hours until sweet potatoes are soft. (Use high if you’re in a rush till they’re tender.)

  6. Scoop into bowls and add toppings like cilantro, avocado, sour cream, cheese, Greek yogurt, or mix them all!
