Slow Cooker Chocolate Cake Recipe

  1. Question….      Is it a dry cake? or are sc cakes moist?

Answer….            The cake is very moist.

2. Question…….      What was your recipe for the icing ?

Answer……..        Icing sugar, cocoa and bit butter mix together with boiling water. I don’t use measurements, just add more if needed.

3. Question……         I unearthed my 20yr old 1Litre recently & have been wondering what I can use it for. Do you think it would fit in 1Lt?

Answer……              The mixture rose and touched the tea towel so I think 1l would be too small for this recipe.

4. Question……         Did you let it cool before getting it out?

Answer……..              Left 5 mins.

5. Question…..           I thought the Woolies one looked too skinny (cylindrical) and the cake wouldn’t stand up or be very easy to cut? How did you find it?

Answer…….              when you tip cake out of sc bowl it is slightly bigger (wider) on bottom so cake stands up well and cut beautifully 😊

6. Question….          How do u get cake out I’ve never done a cake or anything so I wouldn’t know 😟 and is that how high it raised.

Answer…..              when I put mixture in bowl it was about 1/4 full, yes it rose that high! If you spray and line bowl cake should just fall out 😊

7. Question…..        Is it really just 1cup flour for such a high rise?
Answer…….     Yes the bowl was about 1/4 full of mixture and that is how much it rose! It is a very small sc tho.
8. Question…..       How much for a big slow cooker.
Answer……            Yes you could definitely double this mixture for bigger sc’s you’d just have to keep checking time for cooking. I make this recipe in 180c oven cook for approx 45mins and has been great simple recipe.
9. Question…..          How did you get it out without it sticking to the sides??
Answer…..                I sprayed with oil and lined bottom with baking paper. You can see in photo it started pulling away from sides and just slipped out!

10. Question…..       I have a oval one would it still work.

Answer……               Yes it will but you will have to adjust cooking times depending on size of sc. Just put a scewer in after 1 1/2 hrs to see if needs longer.

11. Question…..       Did you line crock with baking paper or just spray? Does it just tip out at the end?
Answer….                 Both and yes just literally fell out of bowl.
12. Question…….          How long and temp in the oven? I made this last night and it was beautiful! But my slow cooker is a funny shape so it didn’t look so pretty. I’d like to use this recipe for my daughter’s birthday cake 🙂
Answer……                   180c oven 40-45mins or until skewer comes out clean.
13. Question…….         HELP! I did everything like it said and after 1 1/2 hrs it’s not cooked in the middle.
Answer……                  Every slow cooker is different, it may take longer just keep checking.
14. Question…….         I don’t use cooking spray can I just line dish with butter and baking paper.
Answer…….      butter is fine or just use baking paper up sides.
