Did the coca cola ham in the slow cooker for 6hrs, coca cola, roughly chopped carrot, celery, onion, 1 cinnamon stick, black peppercorns. Made a glaze with butter, brown sugar, dijon mustard, honey, orange juice, garlic and finished it in the oven for 20 mins…melt-in-the mouth delicious….
How I made the glaze:
1 cup of the cooking liquid
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup of honey
juice of one orange
1 cup of butter
1 tsp cinnamon
2 crushed garlic cloves
2 tbsp Dijon Mustard
Coca Cola Ham Details
Cook in a saucepan until it thickens, leave to cool and glaze ham. I filled a small jam jar with the leftover glaze and have it in the fridge.
UPDATE:
Guys, some of you have been asking questions:
I used Coca-Cola, not Diet.
The fillet was 2KG.
I poured the Coca-Cola 2/rds of the way up as the meat produces liquid.
My S/C is 3ltr so a smaller one.
I covered the meat with foil waiting for glaze to cool.
I pre-heated my oven to 200°C/392°F for 10 mins.
I lowered the temp to180°C/356°F and cooked the meat for 20/25 mins.
