Onion Gravy Lamb Shanks Slow Cooker. This meal is warm and tasty. The lamb cooks slowly and becomes very soft. Onion and gravy make a rich sauce. It is great with mashed potatoes.
Serving: 2
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 4 hours 30 minutes
Total Time: 4 hours 35 minutes
Ingredients
-
1/2 cup gravy powder (like Maggi Rich Gravy Mix)
-
1.5 cups water
-
salt and pepper to taste
-
1-2 sprigs fresh rosemary
Instructions
-
Apply cooking spray on the bottom of the slow cooker. Chop the onion in half and half the rings in half and the remaining half in half dice.
-
Prepare the half rings which have been cut in half on the bottom of the slow cooker after which the lamb shanks are placed on top of the onions.
-
Fry the cut up onions in a small saucepan (which, I guess, it is necessary to give the dish some taste by it, though this is also a matter of choice). Top the lamb shanks with sprinkle onions that have been sauted.
-
Add gravy powder, water, season as preferred to the same small saucepan and pour over lamb shanks. This gravy does not require cooking and heating at all, can be mixed together, this saves on washing dishes as well.
-
Add the rosemary in the slow cooker.
-
Cook on high heat for 4 to 5 hours, or cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours.
-
On a plate of smashed garlic potatoes.
Note
-
You can add 2 TBS of French onion soup mix to this however I prefer it simple.
