French Onion Osso Bucco

French Onion Osso Bucco. A family favourite our ours. Tastier, a bit sweet and thus favourite among my children. Mashed potatoes Toast it or pull it apart and serve with slaw in burgers or tacos.

Ingredients

  • 1 to 1.5kg beef shin (osso bucco chops)

  • 2 tbs plain flour

  • 1 packet French onion soup mix

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/2 jar Beerenberg caramelised onion chutney

  • 1 Tbs soy sauce

  • 2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 Tbs vinegar

  • 1 x 50gm sachet tomato paste

  • Potatoes, carrot and Celery (Optional, chopped)

French Onion Osso Bucco: Instructions

  1. Prepare beef in flour, and put it in crock. Add chopped veg if your using.

  2. Add rest of ingredients into a jug and mix thoroughly. Pour over beef.

  3. Bake at low temperature 5-6 hours or until meat separates from the bone.

  4. Garnish the potato mash with vegetables. Or cut it into small pieces and eat it in soft tacos or burgers.
