Slow Cooker Blade Steak with Port Sauce: Steps

  1. Line your slow cooker: Grab a big piece of aluminium foil and lay it inside your slow cooker. Make sure there’s lots of foil hanging over the sides — you’ll need it later to wrap everything up tight like a gift!
  2. Add baking paper: Put a sheet of baking paper on top of the foil. This keeps the meat from touching the foil directly. Think of it like a little bed for your steaks!
  3. Lay down the steaks: Place all 4 pieces blade steaks flat on the baking paper, side by side.
  4. Spread the jam: Spoon 1 cup apricot jam over the steaks and spread it all around. It’s like putting butter on toast — cover every bit!
  5. Sprinkle the soup mix: Open your 1 packet of French onion soup mix (40g) and sprinkle it all over the steaks. This adds loads of yummy flavour!
  6. Pour the port: Slowly and carefully pour 1 cups port (a kind of sweet drink) all over the top. Don’t worry — after cooking, you won’t taste it at all. It just makes the sauce extra rich and amazing!
  7. Seal it up: Fold the foil over the top of everything and press the edges together so it’s all closed up — like wrapping a birthday present! Then put the lid on the slow cooker.
  8. Cook low and slow: Turn the slow cooker to LOW and let it cook for 480 minutes

. Go play, do your homework, or have a good sleep — it does all the work for you!
