What You Need

  • A big 2 kg piece of corned beef silverside → 2 kg
  • Half a cup of maple syrup → 1/2 cup
  • A quarter cup of wholegrain mustard → 1/4 cup

How To Make Maple Mustard Silverside

  1. Give your silverside a good rinse under cold water, then put it in your slow cooker.
  2. Mix the maple syrup and mustard in a small bowl, then pour it all over the meat.
  3. Here’s the important part — do not add any water! It may sound a little odd, but believe me, it works. As the meat cooks, it makes its own juices and will end up sitting halfway in liquid all by itself. Pretty cool, right?
  4. Put the lid on and cook it on high for 6 hours, or if you’re not in a hurry, on low for 9 hours.
  5. Once it’s done, slice it up and serve it however you like!
