  • 100g of butter → cut into small squares
  • 3 pickled chillies

Mississippi Pot Roast: How To Make

  1. Put the beef into your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the gravy powder and ranch mix all over the top.
  3. Place the butter squares and pickled chillies on top of the meat.
  4. Put the lid on and cook it on low heat for 8 hours.
  5. When it’s done, cut the meat into slices and mix it back into all that yummy juice.
  6. Serve it up — with or without the chillies, your choice!

Tips for Mississippi Pot Roast

If you don’t like spicy food, just take the chillies out before eating. The flavour stays, but the heat goes away!

Ranch seasoning packets can be hard to find in some stores. You can order them online, or make your own at home — it’s really easy!

Make Your Own Ranch Mix At Home

Mix all of these and keep in a jar:

  • ½ cup powdered milk
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons dried dill
  • 3 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 3 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

This mix stays fresh for up to 6 months in a closed jar. Use about 30g each time you make this recipe — that’s the same as one store-bought packet.
