Kiev Bake

Kiev Bake. Have you ever wished your two favourite chicken dinners could just become one? Well, that’s exactly what this recipe does! It takes chicken Kievs — you know, those juicy ones stuffed with garlic butter — and bakes them in a rich, herby tomato sauce topped with loads of melted cheese. It’s like chicken Parma and chicken Kiev had a baby, and that baby is absolutely delicious.

The best part? You just dump everything in the slow cooker and walk away. No fuss, no mess, no standing over a hot stove. A few hours later, dinner is ready and the whole house smells amazing. This one is a total crowd pleaser — kids go crazy for it, and grown-ups always ask for the recipe!

A super yummy mix of two favourite chicken dishes — all cooked together in one pot! Crispy, cheesy, saucy, and SO easy to make.

Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 8 pieces Kievs (your choice)
  • 25 ounces passata
  • 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Kiev Bake Making Steps

  1. Place the Kievs in the slow cooker: Put all 8 of your 8 pieces Kievs (your choice) into the slow cooker. Try to lay them flat in one single layer so they cook nicely and evenly.
  2. Pour on the sauce: Pour 25 ounces passata all over the top of the Kievs. Make sure most of them get covered in that yummy tomato sauce.
  3. Add the seasoning: Sprinkle 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning over everything. This gives it that amazing Italian pizza flavour that makes the whole dish smell so good!
  4. Add the cheese: Pile on 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top. Don’t be shy — the more cheese, the better! It will melt down into all the saucy goodness.
  5. Cook on high: Put the lid on and cook on high for 3.210 minutes. Use the tea towel trick — place a clean tea towel under the lid to soak up extra steam and keep the top from getting watery.
  6. Season and serve: Add a little salt and pepper to taste. Then serve it up with a fresh salad, hot chips, or some steamed veggies on the side. Enjoy!

Notes

The tea towel trick: just lay a clean tea towel over the top of the slow cooker before putting the lid on. It catches the steam so your dish doesn’t get too watery on top. Works like magic! You can use any brand of Kievs you like — garlic butter ones taste especially amazing with the tomato sauce.
