Honey Mustard Chicken (with or without cream)

Honey Mustard Chicken (with or without cream). This yummy honey mustard chicken is super easy for busy days! Sweet honey mixes with zesty mustards, warm spices, and juicy chicken in your slow cooker. Make it plain or add cream for extra smoothness. Family loves it—tender, tasty bites with a fun sweet-tangy kick. Ready in under 4 hours!

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken breast, cut into slices (you can brown it first if you want, check notes)

  • 4 spoons honey

  • 3 spoons American mustard (use 4 spoons if you add cream)

  • 3 spoons whole grain mustard (use 4 spoons if you add cream)

  • 1 spoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 spoon Chinese cooking wine

  • 2 spoons lemon juice

  • 2 spoons brown sugar

  • 1/2 spoon cinnamon

  • 1/2 spoon nutmeg

  • 1 spoon onion powder

  • 1 spoon garlic powder

  • 4 whole cloves, smashed

  • 300 ml cooking cream (you can skip it)

Honey Mustard Chicken: Directions

  1. Put everything in the slow cooker, but save the cream for later.

  2. Stir it all up good.

  3. Set it on low and cook for 3 to 4 hours.

  4. For the creamy kind, stir in cream now before making it thicker.

  5. Make it thicker if you like (check my blog for tips on that).

Notes

I made this recipe by peeking at a jar’s label and tweaking with what tastes good to me. The spices smell strong at first, but they calm down after cooking—don’t fret! After cream goes in, it might need extra mustard. Taste as you go.
Browning chicken before cooking stops it from looking weird and split, especially with cream.
I used an Aldi 3L slow cooker.
