Sticky Plum Chicken. This sticky plum chicken is a super-easy dinner that kids and grown-ups love. Juicy chicken bites get coated in a sweet-tangy plum mix with garlic and soy. Slow-cook it low and slow for tender meat with just-right sticky sauce. Pair with rice or veggies for a fun family meal that’s ready with little work!

Cook Time: 3 hours
Ingredients
-
1 kg chicken breasts
-
1 jar Ayam Brand Plum Sauce (210 ml)
-
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

2 tablespoons light soy sauce

Cornflour to coat the chicken
-
Oil to fry the coated chicken
Sticky Plum Chicken: Directions
-
Mix plum sauce, hoisin sauce, light soy sauce, and minced garlic in a bowl. Put it aside.
-
Cut chicken breasts in half, then into small chunks about 2 to 2.5 cm big.
-
Roll chicken pieces in cornflour.
-
Heat oil in a wok or pan. Fry coated chicken in small batches until brown.
-
Put chicken in a slow cooker.
-
Pour sauce over chicken. Stir to cover every piece.
-
Put the lid on. Cook on low for 2-3 hours.
-
Serve with rice (boiled or fried) and veggies if you want.
Note: This doesn’t make lots of sauce, so don’t cook too long or it might stick. The plum taste is a bit sour-sweet, not like honey. I used Ayam 210 ml jar, but any plum sauce works. The dish has light sauce since chicken is coated, not swimming. For more sauce, add extra plum sauce or water.
