Creamy Chicken Bacon and cauliflower with Pasta…
I put this on very last minute but it was an urge I couldn’t resist.

Ingredients:
1k gram of chicken breast (raw).
250 gram of short cut bacon.
1 leek.
1 onion.
600ml of thickened cream.
1 cup of mushrooms.
1/4 of a medium sized cauliflower.
1 cup of green beans.
420 gram tin of cream of chicken soup.

Directions:
I’m going to put it on high for 2 hours and put it down to low for another 3 or so hours. I’ll probably boil up some rice to serve it with, I didn’t really plan this dish so it’s not what I was thinking when I bought the meat from the supermarket deli but I think it’ll turn out to be really yummy.

My dinner is delicious! But there ended up being a heck of a lot of liquid. Because I was planning on serving it with rice anyway, I chose to put in dry pasta (spirals) which absorbed the liquid and left behind a yummy thick sauce.

If you like more sauce, use 250 gram of pasta. If you like it thicker, use 400 gram like I did. Otherwise, use less soup & thickened cream!

I used a 5kg slow cooker and I would definitely not use this exact recipe in a cooker that was smaller.

NOTE:
Question…. Was just wondering will the cream split?

Answer….. I’ve used thickened cream in several dishes so far over the past few months and I’ve never had the cream split. I don’t actually know what causes it, but I usually make a quick trip to the SC for a stir every now and then, although I’m losing a bit of heat when I do – it seems to help the creamy sauce get all of that flavour distributed evenly..

Question….. My chicken gets so dry every time I use chicken breast in the slow cooker 🙁
Answer……. Really? That’s a shame. Mine was soft and tender with a teeny bit of chewy which is how I like it personally but that’s probably because I put it in raw rather than pre-cooking it..

Question…. How long did you have the pasta in for??

Answer……. 30 minutes on low.
It brought the total cook time to 4 1/2 hours.

Question…. I normally put rice in for the last hour which thickens everything and is yummy.

Answer…… Rice would have worked well too, but I didn’t have enough and I preferred the spirals 👍
But I most likely will give rice a go eventually, I use Basmarti rice.

Question…… I have everything but the cream for a “spare of the moment dinner”…Can I be done without??

Answer…… You could but it would taste different.
