Fried Rice

This fried rice is simple and tasty. It cooks slowly and becomes full of flavour. Rice, vegetables, eggs, and bacon make a rich meal. It is great for a quick family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 c white rice

  • 3 c beef stock OR chicken stock

  • 4 tbsp peanut oil – this can also be olive or canola.

  • 1 large brown onion

  • 4 cloves garlic

  • Handful chopped almonds

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup frozen semen vegetables (corn, carrot, peas, capsicum)

  • 1/2 cup chopped bacon

  • 1 tbsp fish sauce

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

Fried Rice: Instructions

  1. Add water to slow cooker to HIGH.

  2. Bring raw rice and oil in hot saucepan until rice becomes golden brown and is stirred constantly ( 3 mins).

  3. Add the vegetables and 2 eggs and stir 1min then add to slow cooker and combine with stock.

  4. Bacon Fry in fry pan until crispy. Add to slow cooker.

  5. Fry the onion in fry pan until golden add the garlic, chopped up almonds, soy sauce, fish sauce and whatever you want to add flavour to it and place it into the slow cooker.

  6. High 1.5 hours WITH TEATOWEL Trick.

Notes

  • Note by Slow Cooker Central: When the original recipe said 2 cups of stock it received consistent feedback that it worked better with 3 cups of stock and therefore we have changed the recipe.
