Total Time: 8 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef roast (take off any netting)

  • 1 onion, cut into slices

  • 1-2 tsp chopped garlic

  • Sauce Mix:

    • 1 cup smokey BBQ sauce

    • 1/2 cup tomato sauce

    • Optional: 1/2-1 cup water

Simple Smokey BBQ Beef: Directions

  1. Take the roast out of its package and netting. Brown it lightly in a pan if you want (it’s optional!).

  2. Put the roast in the slow cooker. Add the onion slices, chopped garlic, and all the sauce mix. Pour in water if you like.

  3. Cook on high for 8 hours, or on low for 10 hours or more.

  4. Near serving time, use two forks to pull the meat into shreds. Mix it well into the sauce so every bite is coated. Serve with veggies or however you want!

Note: I added a bit of water to keep things juicy since the sauce started getting thick and crusty on the edges. Remember, the meat’s own juices and steam from the cooker add wetness too. Don’t add too much, or the sauce gets watery like soup instead of thick and yummy.
