I finally got round to trying the Golden Syrup Dumplings In Slow Cooker. It was awesome! – Thank you Priscilla Diamond. I added some cinnamon to mine.
Golden Syrup Dumplings
Syrup
1/3 cup golden syrup
2 cups boiling water
50g melted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
Add to slow cooker, mix and heat on high while you make your Dumplings.
Mix –
1 1/2 cups self-raising flour
Dash of cinnamon powder
in a bowl.
Add 30gr butter and mix with fingers to resemble crumbs.
Make a well in the centre then add
1/3 cup milk
1/3 cup golden syrup
Mix well to form a dough. Roll into balls using a tablespoon to measure. (About 15-18 balls). Turn SC to low. Drop one by one into syrup and allow to cook for an hour then check they’re not sticking together and gently stir. Cook another 30 minutes. Serve with custard, whipped cream or ice-cream.
